I’m in Ottawa this week to celebrate a milestone… my mother’s 90th birthday.

Owning a rustic retreat is, by nature, a somewhat labor intensive endeavor. The amount of work is, of course, determined by many factors including the state of the place when you took possession of it (if bought from someone else), the importance you place on the completion of details, your ability/desire to DIY, etc.
